Welcome to the European Best Parks competition, an initiative by Briggs & Stratton, the world largest manufacturer of petrol engines for outdoor power equipment. Thanks to the success of the national Best Parks contests Briggs & Stratton decided to introduce the European wide competition “Europe's Best Park” in 2007. The European winner is selected among the winners of all national contests. The winner of Europe’s Best Park 2008 is Pollok Country Park in Glasgow (UK). The park attracts two million visitors every year and has a rich and proud history. It boasts two major visitor attractions, namely Pollok House, the ancestral home of the Maxwell Family, founders of the Forestry Commission and the National Trust and the Burrell Museum showcasing a collection of priceless world art.
