The Best Park” contest was created by Briggs & Stratton in the United States in the 1990s to promote appreciation for public parks and gardens. In 2003, the contest was introduced to Europe, in Germany, Great Britain, France, Sweden and Italy, and recently in Poland, where each year the best parks and gardens have been competing for the national title. Thanks to the success of the national competitions and the ever increasing interest shown by parks, the public and the press, in 2007 the competition took on a new form, with the introduction of the “Europe's Best Park”, selected among the winners of all national contests.

The aim of Briggs & Stratton and of this award is precisely the promotion of the culture and appreciation of invaluable heritage and the nature, making these wonders appreciated not only by the small circle of specialists, but also to a wider public.
